Meet theAuthor & Creator
Emily Read Daniels, M.Ed., MBA, NCC
Emily Read Daniels is the creator and author of The Regulated Classroom®, an evidence-based framework that enables co-regulation in the classroom. She developed the framework after years of working as a school counselor, supporting students and staff experiencing dysregulation.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women’s Studies and a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Delaware, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Organizational and Environmental Sustainability from Antioch University New England. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Her professional development reflects an ongoing commitment to understanding stress & trauma, the nervous system, and body-based approaches to regulation. She has completed more than 120 hours of training in Somatic Experiencing, trained in Sensory-Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART), and studied trauma-informed sensory modulation with Dr. Tina Champagne. She has also participated in small-group consultation with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and completed an introductory course in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).
Emily is a Reiki practitioner and has completed a certificate through the Penn Program for Mindfulness.
Emily and The Regulated Classroom® have been featured in Real Simple, Education Week, Associated Press, Fox News, Boston Globe, New Hampshire Public Radio, America Inspire Magazine, and numerous other media outlets.
As a trainer, consultant, facilitator, and leader, Emily continues to deepen her knowledge and refine her practice to help educators create classrooms grounded in regulation, connection, and joy.

Emma Adams
Marketing & Support Specialist
Emma fills the lead support role and specializes in storytelling and marketing. When you reach out to The Regulated Classroom for customer service, you’re going to meet Emma! She’s also the magic behind our social media (Instagram and FB).
Emma has a background in elementary education and is the mom of three kids.
In her free time, she loves walking her dog, being outside, being near the ocean, and traveling with her family.
Lily Doenmez
Fulfillment and Product Development
Lily manages our inventory, oversees and fulfills orders, plays a critical role in product development (i.e. guidebooks & toolkits) and is the office design liason with our graphic designer.
She also supports our customers with questions.
Lily has two young boys, loves printmaking, going out to eat with her family, cooking, running, and walking in the woods.
Scott Daniels
Consultant and Client Success
Scott is Emily’s husband and a seasoned educator of 25 years. He’s spent his career working as a school psychologist and a special education director.
At The Regulated Classroom®, Scott’s role is to ensure consultants and clients feel deeply supported in their work with The Regulated Classroom.
When Scott isn’t working, he may be playing tennis, hanging with his dog Maple, or spending time with his family.
Heather McClusky
Fractional COO
Heather ensures The Regulated Classroom® runs smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes.
Heather specializes in developing and overseeing systems and processes that enhance consistency across key areas like contracts, licensing, and business relationships.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, sewing, and spending quality time with her family.
